Artifice x Nature

NEW MUSIC AT THE WATERWORKS

New musical works by Kui Dong, Nina Young, Stefanie Lubkowski, Anthony Green, and Gérard Grisey play on the tension between the representational and the abstract. The presence of the steam-driven water pumps, providing Boston’s water in the 19th century, inhabiting the interior of the Waterworks museum, reminds us of this friction between nature and the world of engineering and urban planning in Boston.
