Dinosaur Annex is honored to kick off our 35th season with a special tribute to composer, pianist, conductor and educator Yehudi Wyner. A superb cast of colleagues and friends – Richard Stoltzman, Sabrina Learman, Frank Kelley, David Kravitz, and Yehudi himself – will join us for an evening full of Mad-Hatter-ish fun and 80th birthday surprises.

To help you ward off the January chills, our week-long Seventh Annual Young Composers Festival (YCF) will warm your heart with rich musical activities for children and young adults. For the festival’s Dinosaur Annex feature concert, we gather composers of the newest generation from as far away as Singapore, Portugal and Israel, to listen with excitement as they spread their creative, musical wings. This year’s festival commission has been awarded to New England Conservatory grad student Andreia Pinto-Correia, who will apply her imaginative skills to joining Dinosaur Annex players with young singers and instrumentalists from Community Music Center of Boston, our longtime festival collaborator. Maestro Sam Martinborough will join us to conduct this world premiere.

April showers will bring not only May flowers, but a delectable offering of not one, or two, but rather, three world premieres: from Shih-Hui Chen, Forrest Larson and Peter Homans. Your ears will come alive with the wildly contrasting styles of these three talented composers.

Please come share our excitement this season as we bring you the best of new music from Boston and beyond. And don’t forget: we also offer you a chance to speak directly with many of the composers whose works you will hear during the “Cross-Talk” discussions which take place before each concert. We hope to see you there!
